Guiding Who We Are

1.  Godly Character - We believe that Jesus is our model of Godly character and imitating Him is our goal. "The Son reflects God's own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly. He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command. After he died to cleanse us from the stain of sin, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God of heaven." (Hebrews 1:3, NLT)

2.  Biblical Authority - We believe that the Bible is God’s message to mankind, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is our source of hope, truth, moral guidance and unchanging values. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NLT)

3.  Sharing Christ - We believe that every person is loved by God and CAN have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is the Good News and we WILL share it. "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." (1 Peter 3:15a, NIV)

4.  Personal Ministry - We believe in helping people discover and use their unique abilities in service to Christ and His church. "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." (1 Peter 4:10, NIV)

5.  Family-Centered - We believe in supporting, equipping and uplifting families in order to encourage them to keep Christ as their priority. "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you

lie down and when you get up." (Deuteronomy 6:4-7, NIV)

6.  Mission-Driven - We believe that God expects His church to multiply and grow, fulfilling His command. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

7.  Authentic Worship - We believe that authentic worship begins with personal interaction with Jesus Christ and is ultimately expressed in everyday activity through the week and culminates in the gathering of the community of believers for celebration. "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship." (Romans 12:1, NIV)
